A business one-pager, or company one pager, is the page you send after a first call or before a meeting. Buyers forward it to whoever approves the budget, investors skim it before deciding to take a call, and partners use it to explain you to their team. It has to make the case alone, in two minutes, for someone who has never heard of you.
This template follows the shape of a sales one-pager and a short investor teaser: problem, solution, traction, customers, team and the ask. The example above is for a fictional inventory planning company that sells to independent fashion brands, with one ask for brands and one for investors.
What goes in each section
The headline
What you do in five words and the result customers get: "Loomstack: stock that matches sales. Fashion brands sell out 30% less often." Under it, who the page is for, one sentence on what you sell, and a contact. Mistake to avoid: a tagline with no result. "The future of inventory" says nothing.
01 · Problem
Three numbers that show what the problem costs, then one real customer quote. Mistake to avoid: a problem only you have noticed. Use numbers your reader recognises from their own business.
02 · Solution
How it works as three steps, then three features as small cards, each written as what it does for the customer. Mistake to avoid: a feature list in your internal words. "Forecast by size" means something to a fashion buyer; "ML demand engine" does not.
03 · Traction
Revenue or MRR with growth, paying customers, retention and churn, then a chart by quarter. Mistake to avoid: vanity numbers such as signups or page views. Buyers and investors both look for paying customers who stay.
04 · Customers
Two or three named customers with a result each, and your plans with prices and how many customers are on each. Mistake to avoid: logos without results. One "stockouts down from 24% to 9%" beats ten logos.
05 · Team
The founders and key people, each with the one past job that makes them right for this, and a line on team size and location. Mistake to avoid: full biographies. One relevant line each is enough.
06 · The ask
What you want from each kind of reader: a trial or a demo for customers, the round size, what is committed and the close date for investors. Mistake to avoid: ending without an ask. A one-pager with no next step gets read and filed. Once investors are in, keep them current with a monthly investor update.
How long, and how often to update it
One page, 300 to 500 words plus numbers. Update the traction numbers monthly and the rest when the story changes. Write a first version in an hour from your pitch deck or website, then cut it until it fits. If you are writing a plan for yourself or a bank rather than selling, use the one page business plan instead.
How to use this template
- In Obsidian: install the free myone.page plugin, run New page from template and pick Company one-pager.

Where myone.page helps
A one-pager shared as a link stays current: update the MRR in your note and everyone with the link sees the new number, no new PDF to send. Links can require sign-in or, on the paid plan, be open to anyone. If you need a designed, branded sales sheet with images, a design tool such as Canva or Figma will look more polished; this page is for getting the facts right and keeping them right.
